LemonChrystal has been a rolling stone in all the best ways. LemonChrystal Artist Sanctuary is focused on creating innovative opportunities for rural, emerging, and underrepresented artists and musicians. LemonChrystal operates an art supply store, boutique, gallery, and community arts space dedicated to expanding access to creative opportunities throughout Ohio.
Founders, Chrystal Robinson & Lennon Strain have been in a 20 year plus partnership that has seen them create multiple art and cultural events for the artist and residence of Alliance, Ohio. Chrystal, previous owner of Jupiter Studios ICAC, an award-winning art and music venue closed with Covid 19, has never given up on reopening in a beautiful historic building, like her original location. She is a woman who never gives up, on her fourth location, her dedication to the arts runs deep. Her work in downtown Alliance continues today, in the festival she created. The wildly popular “Duck-Duck Jeep Fall Festival”, a food, art & cultural phenomenon with an annual attendance of over 5K people, helped bring together a community to save their downtown.
Since 2023 they have served as Ingeneers (artisans, builders and laborers) at the famed and deeply impactful Ingenuity Fest. LemonChrystal went on to be a valued creative as an artist in residence at Ingenuity headquarters at The Hamilton Collaborative Building. An organization vested in raising the profile of Ingenuity, their fellow artist and The Goodrich Gannett Neighborhood, the dynamos hosted Fourth Floor Fridays a monthly serving of music, dance, workshops, live and curated art as an investment in the people. LemonChrystal are forever grateful to Ingenuity for their continued support of their work and look forward to future collaborations.
Now, this October they will launch an initiative that invites the neighborhood to be an artist, bringing beauty and opportunity to participate in the arts to their neighbors in the historic Slavic Village Neighborhood. LemonChrystal is looking forward to launching their upcoming series of workshops and programming focused on emerging artists. Hoping to bring new eyes, new friends and tourists into Slavic Village, a once booming historic tourist destination reaching for a long-awaited revival. This innovative artist duo calls on the community to take sanctuary in art.
