Juniper M Mainelis is a Visionary artist inspired by mystical themes and likes to describe her work as a sacred journey to open the gateway of the imagination. Using a process called Intentional Creativity, she begins with an inquiry, sets an intention, and envisions a portal opening. As she senses a shift in her emotions; she infuses the canvas with her thoughts and feelings, enabling her to intuitively perceive the language of image, symbol, story, and color, so that every stroke and mark become permeated with intention and prayers.
Working in acrylic mostly, she often includes vibrant jewel tones in her multi-layered dreamscapes. There’s a lot more going on in the underlayers than what you see, but often segments of the layers still show through with an otherworldly depth. The energy held within the painting is there weather it is seen or not. Each piece represents a visual prayer or healing. The feeling of connecting with the sacred can be activated when viewing or being in the room even without looking; often stirring up emotions that are ready to be healed, while offering a new way to see things.
It is her intention that these images inspire and uplift the viewer, creating a focal point to encourage inquiry and conversation. Also referred to as medicine-painting, this technique opens the door to the imagination and can become an elixir for the soul with the power to heal the artist and the viewer.
Often her paintings inspire her to also write songs and poetry, giving a deeper dive into the intentions and story within the canvas, like a soundtrack or story for the painting.
